river59 asked:

Asset Acceptance is holding two small utility debts of mine. The statute of limitations has run out but they resubmitted the debt to the credit agencies as if they are new. Can they continue to resubmit a debt after the statute of limitations has run out? How do I fix this?

Where to find free start-up finance spreadsheet to show potential investor eg 3yr revenue projection, etc?

jane asked:

I co-founded a start-up. Business plan is in the work. I still need to work on the financial section. I know I should have a CFO work on it. But I don’t have $$ to pay/hire a CFO. So I get to wear the finance hat too among other roles. Do you know of free finance spreadsheet templates I could download to use? Need to finish biz plan to show potential investors. Can’t show current biz plan as is without figures. Biz plan doesn’t mean anything to investors without 3 year financial planning such as revenue projection, dev’t cost projection, marketing budget projection, potential # of people for hire, other related finance figures of interest to potential investor. Tks for your help in advance!

You hear about credit card debt all the time. What do you do when the debt is medical bills?

Most of my debt consists of medical bill leftovers (the amount after insurance) that has gone to collection. I have not seen anything that deals with those types of bad credit. They say medical is not supposed to affect your credit but it does.

Why You Should Avoid Home Foreclosure At All Costs

May 27th, 2009 — 11:13 pm

When it comes to keeping up the mortgage payment, there may be nothing more stressful if you are suffering from some sort of financial set back. Whether the issue you are having is work related or health related there is obviously a lot of stress in the house if you are not able to come up with enough money each month to make the mortgage payments and avoid mortgage foreclosure.

Foreclosures do not mean that you get to just walk away from the property without owing anything unless you had a lot of equity in the home.

You want to avoid home foreclosure at all costs because you will not be able to simply walk away from your financial obligations once the home enters the foreclosure process. Even if the home goes all the way through and ends up sold at a sheriff’s sale, it is important to know that you still may be responsible for some money owed to the mortgage company.

This is because mortgage companies are generally not able to get back what you owe and they will come after you for the balance of what is legally and rightfully owed to them. So you want to make sure you avoid home foreclosure so you are not faced with that.

Places To Seek Help From

If you feel that you are having trouble making your monthly mortgage payments then the first thing that you want to do is to contact your lender to discuss any payment options they may have. You may be surprised to learn that your mortgage company does not want your house and that they are generally more then happy to assist you in making sure that you avoid home foreclosure.

Every state has their own laws and each state’s laws can vary a great deal from one another. These places may be able to walk you through a list of things that they can do so that you know how to stop mortgage foreclosure.

There are also a lot of different non-profit organizations out there that can help you avoid home foreclosure if you are truly in need of the help. While there are a lot of places out there that can help, not all of them will be able to so you want to make sure that you come up with an entire list of places to call.

While it may seem a little embarrassing to talk with your peers and relatives about your financial situation, they are your friends for a reason and they are often times there to help you and to support you. So suck up the pride and look to others for help on figuring out how to stop bank foreclosure. Once you start talking to people you may begin to wonder what took you so long to search out help to begin with.

I know the US external debt is around 12 trillion, but what is the composition of the said debt? Treasury securities? What?

And second, does anyone have figures for who owns this outstanding debt? I have heard for example that China owns anything from 400 Billion to over 1 trillion. Does anyone have definite figures of these?

How long does debt stay on a credit report?

May 22nd, 2009 — 05:51 pm
debt
~ Jamie ~ asked:

I am helping my best friend clear up her finances and she has many, many old collection notices on her credit report that are helping to drag her rating down. They are probably 4-7 years old. Do these ever fall off? Or get written off? It seems like they just keep transferring them to other agencies. She also has a Household Bank credit card in collections – should this be paid first or the old debt? She tried to make arrangements with the collection agency for Household but they wanted much more a month than she could give them, and they refused to make arrangements so right now they are getting nothing. Help – I am not sure where to start. :(
