According to the article “Know the value of your designer wardrobe!” very few of us are put off shopping for designer clothes by the credit crunch. Women who shop (and men, though not so many in comparison,) cannot and will not be deterred by silly obstacles such as lack of money!
What makes a person shop till they drop even in the face of an ever-shrinking overdraft facility? Is it because we all feel we need to ‘keep up with the Joneses’ or that we need to reward ourselves for struggling through a difficult month? The determined shopper needs no excuse.
One thing the insurance companies have noticed is that in most cases fashion purchases are left off the accumulative values of our contents insurance even though a winter coat could set us back the same as a wide screen television!
Ladies and gents – grab a pen and get that paperwork done!

asked: Seems to me that PMI is very costly for the home owner, especially me with a perfect credit rating and new funding source to maintain a mortgage if I lose my job (my job is very secure). Please any suggestions on how to get the PMI waived by the mortgage company.

There are so many out there… wouldnt know where to start. Who do you personally use? Is there a medical exam involved? What type of premiums are you paying? Is it fixed or does it go up every few years? We live in Florida also. Any help would be appriciated.

LadyLiberty asked: I have $60,000 in various student loans, but since consolidating my combined payment is only $300/month. I have no other debt. Do lenders view student loan debt differently due to the flexibility of the loans? Also, would they look more at the total amount of the debt or the monthly payment when determining the rate and loan amount?

Chochi asked: I’m currently on a repayment plan on a rental property for the 1st mortgage. The 2nd has been charged off by EMC mortgage and sent to an outsourced collection company called LCS. Does anyone have any experience on how to deal with LCS and what rights I have to settle this 2nd mortgage. Can they freeze my assets? Will they seek a Judgment?

Alberto M asked: The taxes in our area when up drastically. My friend asked me to review his tax bill and I noticed he did not have a Homestead or Mortgage exemption. He has a 30 year mortgage on the property and it is his only primary residence. He’s had the mortgage for five years. Is there a way for him to recoupe some of those taxes because he didn’t have those exemptions. Is his mortgage company responsible?
What about the back money that is owed to him because the county was over charging because he did not have those exemptions for 5 years
